In our school board campaign, we strongly oppose the inclusion of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in the K-12 curriculum. We believe that education should be focused on providing students with a well-rounded understanding of core subjects and preparing them for future success. As such, we advocate for a curriculum that is tied solely to the Pennsylvania State Standards, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education without the infusion of controversial theories or ideologies.
Our stance against teaching CRT is well-documented and on record. We firmly believe that K-12 education should prioritize the teaching of essential subjects such as mathematics, science, language arts, art and music, and history, while promoting critical thinking, analytical skills, and cultural diversity. By adhering to the Pennsylvania State Standards, we can ensure that our students receive a comprehensive education that prepares them for college, careers, and civic engagement, without being subjected to divisive and potentially polarizing ideologies.
Furthermore, we are committed to holding teachers accountable for delivering the curriculum as outlined by the Pennsylvania State Standards. Teachers play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of our students, and it is essential that they adhere to the established curriculum guidelines. We support regular assessments and evaluations to ensure that teachers are effectively teaching the required content and helping students achieve academic success. By maintaining a system of accountability, we can guarantee that our students are receiving the education they deserve while upholding the integrity of the curriculum.
